CJ's mom booked me way in advance of her due date and at the time, thought that she would be delivering locally and laboring traditionally. God had other plans, though, and she ended up learning that the sweet little baby inside of her had a heart problem that may require surgery soon after his birth. There was a lot up in the air until after his arrival, but God hand was in it all along. Making it to her scheduled c-section at an Atlanta hospital close to where CJ would need to be transferred was a miracle in itself. After his birth, CJ did end up having surgery but came home just a week after his birth. Amazing! Since, he has been readmitted but from his mommy's posts, it is clear that he is a fighter through and through and nothing will slow him down! The thing that impressed me the most, and I've seen a lot of births, was the peace that CJ's parents and extended family had. The prayers they prayed, the full faith that God loves CJ more than they do and is ultimately working for his good. Every birth is special, but ones like this remind me of why I do what I do. Life is truly a miracle and I am SO fortunate to be able to do this job!
Enjoy a glimpse of CJ's birthday!
