WAY Overdue Ollie Post

Sweet Oliver West was born in early May, and until I got his precious birth announcement in the mail recently, I totally forgot he never made it up on my blog. Ollie's mommy is a dear friend of mine from  years ago and so it was a very emotional birth, even for the photographer! Brittany and Hunter are precious parents and I am so thankful they allowed me to be a part of this life changing day!

Sweet Millie is HERE!

Millie Reese Powell was born April 15th, and I usually like to get preview posts up really fast. But with Easter and a conglomeration of other things holding me up, I'm just now getting around to it! Her mommy delivered her via C-Section, so I was on hand to capture her first precious moments afterward and her first encounter with her big siblings. Millie is precious and was as calm as could be from the minute they brought her in the room. Her big sister and brother are so proud and it shows on their excited faces. Thankful to be a part of their special day! Here's the (abbreviated) story of her birth.

New Blog, New Specialty

When I dropped out of college to get married, I knew even then that I wanted to be a stay at home mom. Well, that I was called to be. I love being social, so staying home is a sacrifice that I willingly make because I feel like God has called me to. I like taking pictures and capturing moments for people, but up until now I've felt like it was a hobby, even when I called it a business. But lately, I've been praying a lot about where I want that hobby of a business to go, and I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that it's birth photography. I saw a special on the news about it while I was pregnant with my boys and fell in love with it. I've researched it a lot and found a few guinea pigs. I am excited to learn more and get my name out there! I will still be available for families, etc. occasionally, too!

Welcome to the World, sweet Lillian!

Katie and Brooks welcomed their sweet new addition, Lillian Emily, Friday morning at 3:35. She wasn't scheduled to make her debut until Monday, but she had other plans. Because of the snowy roads, Katie's family was unable to make it for the delivery, so this was a much different experience for her than her previous deliveries. But the result was the same, a precious new life. Here is the story of Lillian's birth, no more words needed. Enjoy.
